Innovation is sometimes hard to foster. Ideas need to be well thought out and developed. After coming up with the “big idea” you then are faced with the big funding question. For many entrepreneurs this is the hardest thing to tackle. Not everyone has an agent like Jerry Maguire. Many times you have to say “show me the money” over and over until finally you get seed capital for your idea. We had the opportunity to check out the PresenTense Investment Round table in NYC and learn about some very interesting start ups. PresenTense is a largely volunteer-run community of innovators and entrepreneurs, thinkers and leaders, creators and educators, from around the world, who are investing their ideas and energy to revitalize the established Jewish community.
As entrepreneurs discussed their ideas and frustrations it is clear that PT Investments will be a critical tool for young entrepreneurs. This round table provided an opportunity for people to come together and brainstorm how to start or continue their project.
It was extremely refreshing to see new ideas coming to the forefront and young leaders coming together to foster innovation. Participants talked about how to obtain a 501c(3), funding tips and shared their stories in developing projects.
The PT Investment Round Table is the beginning to something that is going to benefit entrepreneurs and the community at large. We look forward to seeing more from PT investments and the organizations they foster.
